Namikawa Yasuyuki(1845~1927)
Toward the latter half of the 19th century, Namikawa Yasuyuki was highly acclaimed in Western countries for his commitment to wired cloisonne, the starting point of modern Japanese cloisonne, and his mastery of his unique worldview.
The style of his work has changed repeatedly over four periods, with the development of various techniques and designs, and new glazes. The style has evolved into more sophisticated works of art through further growth and development. He won numerous awards at the exhibitions of the time and was appointed as an Imperial Artist in 1896. The works created by Namikawa Yasuyuki are the pinnacle of cloisonne enamel ware recognized around the world, as they have consistently received high acclaim from the Meiji period to the present day.
